How do I record a Cam5 live show?

Open a public room while it is live, then click Download on the player and choose a quality, or pick one in the popup and press Start. Press Stop in the popup, or the X on the page's progress panel, when you are finished and the MP4 is saved to your Downloads.

Will my Cam5 recordings have a watermark?

No. The extension saves the stream as it is and adds no watermark or logo.

Where does the Cam5 file end up?

In your browser's Downloads location, inside a folder named CAM5COM. The file name comes from the room or performer name on the page.

Can I save Cam5 private shows?

Shows that are private, exclusive or ticketed cannot be recorded, nor can hidden or password-protected rooms. Public rooms you can already watch are what the extension supports.

Can I choose the video quality?

If the room broadcasts more than one quality, the popup and the player's quality menu list them and you choose before starting. The ceiling is always the performer's own stream.

Is the audio recorded?

Yes. Sound from the room is saved inside the MP4 as AAC audio.

What happens to the recording if I close the tab?

Closing the room's tab ends the recording, so keep it open until you click Stop. Using other tabs in the meantime is fine.

Common questions

Yes. Changing the cam5.com interface to Spanish, or to any of its other languages, does not affect the Download button or the popup. The file is saved the same way either way.
