About Any Webcam Video Downloader

Search for an AnyWebcam recorder and most results are apps that record your own webcam, for video calls or vlogs. That is a different job. AnyWebcam is a live cam site at anywebcam.com with public rooms and random chat, and this extension is built to record the performers broadcasting there. It saves the public show you are watching to your computer as an MP4, and it never turns on or uses your own camera.

Go to anywebcam.com and open a public room where the performer is live. The extension adds a Download button to that room's player; click it, choose a quality, and the recording is running. The toolbar popup gives you more control: it names the room, lists the qualities the stream carries, and holds Start, Stop and a timer. Alternatively, right-click the page and select Download Any Webcam Stream. The capture lasts until you end it, with the popup's Stop or the X on the page's progress panel, or until the performer ends the broadcast.

The saved MP4 uses H.264 video and AAC audio and goes into an ANYWEBCAM folder in Downloads, named after the room. Note that this is the anywebcam.com site; anywebcam.org is a separate site with its own recorder.
