What file formats will be offered for saving a loop?

You will be able to choose between MP4 with synchronized audio for full playback or an animated GIF that provides a lightweight, silent version of the visual loop.

How will audio be handled when saving as MP4?

The tool aims to automatically mux Coub's separate video and audio tracks into a single MP4 file, ensuring the downloaded video plays with perfectly synced sound in standard players.

Can I save a loop without audio?

Yes, selecting the GIF format will produce an animated image without any audio, which is ideal for sharing or embedding where sound is not needed or file size is a concern.

How will file names be determined after downloading?

File names are planned to be generated automatically from the Coub loop's title, helping you keep your collection organized and making it easy to locate specific clips later.

Will there be a quick way to start a download while browsing?

A right-click context menu option is being developed to provide a fast shortcut for saving the current Coub loop without needing to navigate away from your feed or timeline.

Can I monitor the download progress?

A real-time progress indicator will be displayed during each download, showing the current state and the resulting file size so you know exactly when the save is complete.

Will embedded Coub players on other websites be supported?

Support is expected for Coub loops embedded on external sites using the standard player, allowing the extension to detect and download content beyond coub.com pages.

Where will the processing of my downloads take place?

All processing is intended to run entirely on your local device; no files will be uploaded to external servers, and no browsing telemetry or personal data will be collected.

Use Coub Downloader only for videos you own or have permission to save. Respect the platform and creators, and do not redistribute downloaded videos without the necessary rights.

Happy Users

Recent customer feedback

Short, practical feedback from people using Coub Downloader in real workflows.

Good for Coub compilation editing

I curate Coub compilations and needed a reliable way to save loops with audio intact. The muxing works cleanly and the MP4s play cleanly in Premiere Pro.

GIF export is a nice bonus

The GIF option is great for sharing loops in Discord and Slack where video embeds are clunky. File sizes are reasonable and the animation quality is sharp.

Quick extension saves from the feed

Simple and fast. I browse my Coub feed, open the extension on anything I like, and it is saved in seconds. No bloat, no popups, no tracking. Exactly what I wanted.
