About Sohu TV Downloader

Sohu TV's catalog changes constantly, and your favorite dramas or documentaries can disappear without warning. This downloader lets you build a permanent local library of content you love. It works entirely in your browser, so your data stays private and never leaves your machine.

Just browse to any episode on tv.sohu.com while logged into your account. The extension automatically detects available video streams and presents resolution options with estimated file sizes. Once you select a quality, it downloads and stitches adaptive HLS segments into one continuous MP4 file, preserving original audio and video fidelity.

The finished file saves with its Chinese title intact, making it easy to browse your collection later. Real-time progress tracking shows download speed, size, and estimated completion, while automatic retry and resume handle any connection interruptions. Play the MP4 in VLC, mpv, or any standard media player, and enjoy your archived content anytime, offline.

Recent customer feedback

Short, practical feedback from people using Sohu TV Downloader in real workflows.

No more losing episodes to licensing changes

I have been following several Chinese dramas on Sohu and they keep removing episodes after licensing expires. With this extension I now save each episode as it airs. The segment stitching works cleanly and gives me one clean MP4 per episode.

Excellent for documentary research clips

I use Sohu TV for documentary research and need to reference specific segments. The download quality matches what I see in the browser and the Chinese filenames make it easy to stay organized.

HLS stitching is a massive time saver

The HLS stitching is the standout feature. Other tools gave me hundreds of tiny .ts files. This gives me one MP4 that plays in any media player. Exactly what I needed.
