How will batch downloading from boards work?

A board export feature is planned to pull entire curated iStock collections without opening each asset individually. You will select the board, and the extension will queue all available assets for download.

Will the extension help me avoid duplicate downloads?

Yes, duplicate detection is being built to track iStock asset IDs locally. It will prevent accidental credit waste by skipping files you already own, making credit management more efficient.

How will the extension label Essentials and Signature content?

Every download will be labeled as Essentials or Signature, so you can track credit costs accurately. This labeling is intended to help with invoice matching and compliance tracking.

What metadata will be preserved in downloaded files?

The extension aims to embed iStock keywords, contributor info, and license type into each file's metadata. This will support organized asset management and license compliance.

Which browsers are expected to be supported?

Compatibility is planned for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, and Opera on Windows, macOS, and Linux desktops. Safari and mobile browsers will not be supported.

Will my iStock credentials be safe while using this extension?

All processing is designed to stay inside your browser, so no iStock credentials or files will be sent externally. Your privacy and account security are core to the design.

How will the download queue handle failures?

A concurrent transfer queue is being developed with per-file progress bars and automatic retry on failure. This will keep your workflow smooth even if some downloads encounter issues.

Can I use this with my iStock subscription plan?

The extension is intended to work with iStock credit packs and subscription plans, respecting your account's access level. It will only download content you are licensed to access.

About Istock Downloader

Manually downloading iStock assets one by one is a drain on creative time. The extension scans search results, boards, and detail views, then queues all available photos, vectors, and video clips for batch transfer. You select what you need and the downloader handles the rest.

Built-in duplicate detection tracks iStock asset IDs locally, so you never waste credits on files you already own. Each file is labeled as Essentials or Signature, preserving keywords, contributor info, and license type in the embedded metadata.

With per-file progress bars and automatic retry on failure, the concurrent queue keeps your workflow smooth. All processing stays inside your browser—no credentials or files are ever sent externally.
